After a snow-logged day in the Whitney Portal zone, this relatively arid peak offered dry boots and some incredible vistas of the Owens Valley & Eastern Sierra wall.
While challenging with no sources of water other than a bit of packed snow on the summit ridge in the winter months, it’s worth the climb if not only for the scree descend. At one point we were able to descend 1000ft in 10 minutes on perfect pea-gravel sized rocks.
